Suck My...
Suck My... (2024), chalk pastel, combination of stitched/glued ribbon on paper, 36 x 27 ½ inches
“Suck my Dick” is a thought that I am constantly thinking when men in particular ask what I plan to do with my art
degree and how am even going to make a living, unfortunately, I do not ever find myself saying these words I just think them. I chose to depict the phrase in an overly embellished thought bubble to hyper-feminize this inherently
masculine phrase. The satin quality of ribbon is something that I find very visually stimulating which causes me to
include it in most of my work, that adds a very feminine quality especially when it is sewn into the paper to align
with a cursive font. My work demonstrates an expanded approach to drawing because using ribbon as thread
which is already nonconventional on top of sewing it into paper instead of fabric. I also decided to make it into an
installation by bringing which creates a whole different dynamic instead of just having it pinned up on the wall I love
the confusion of materials that this project causes and takes a couple of double takes to see everything that is
going on.
